Meet The Tiguan R With 316bhp

Tiguan is the next VW that is lucky to get the R treatment

While once we had just Volkswagen's Golf R, we have now several Volkswagen R variants and now this, the latest R model, the Tiguan R. Get used to it, Internet, as this will not end any time in the future.

Newest R Spec

VW's Tiguan R is based on the second generation vehicle is extremely close to in specification to the Arteon R that has been announced recently. This means that there’s the Evo 4 version of VW Group’s grunty 2.0-litre turbo powerplant under its bonnet, this produces a powerful 316bhp & 310lb ft of torque in this current tune. This power is fed to all four paws, and the R-Performance Torque Vectoring system splits torque between the front- and rear axles and also in between the R's both rear wheels, thus giving better hold in hard corners.
Sitting some 10mm nearer to the ground than the standard model its 21 inch “Estoril” wheels hide big brakes. And, you are able to spec an exhaust like on the smaller T-Roc R.

The Volkswagen Tiguan R Snow Modes

There are Sport, Race, Individual, Comfort, Offroad, Snow & Offroad Individual driving modes and, as with VW's Arteon, there is a small R button on the R's steering wheel that takes one straight to the beast mode.
